Fleet management in Abu Dhabi has its own cost rules. Darb charges every peak crossing with no cap and has had a longer evening peak since September 2025, two gates now charge 24/7, Mawaqif parking is paid until midnight, and Abu Dhabi Police gives 35% off fines paid within 60 days. CT Mobility gives Abu Dhabi companies live vehicle tracking with the verified driver on every trip, so each toll, parking fine and traffic fine has a trip and a name next to it.
Darb charges AED 4 per crossing from 7 to 9am and from 3 to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and is free on Sundays and public holidays at the regular gates. Two recent changes add charged time for company cars:
There is no daily or monthly cap. Company-owned vehicles never had one under Darb, and the caps for private vehicles (AED 16 a day) ended on 1 September 2025. If employees use their own cars for work and claim tolls back, those claims are now uncapped as well.
For a shared pool car, the Darb amount depends on who drove, when and on which route. CT Mobility records each trip with its route and times, so each Darb transaction on the statement is matched to the trip and the employee who booked it, and trip reports show which trips crossed a gate at peak hours.
Mawaqif public parking is paid from 8am to midnight: AED 2 per hour or AED 15 per day in standard spaces, and AED 3 per hour with a 4-hour maximum in premium spaces. Parking is free on Sundays and public holidays. Residents' spaces are reserved for permit holders from 9pm to 8am.
A parking fine, like a traffic fine, is issued to the vehicle. The trip record shows where and when each trip ended, so the fine is matched to the employee who parked the car. It also shows which cars are left overnight in paid or residents' zones. If a vehicle is impounded, Mawaqif charges AED 100 per day for the first month plus AED 500 for transport and towing; a towing alert tells you at once that a car was moved without the ignition on.
Abu Dhabi Police gives a 35% discount on traffic fines paid within 60 days of the violation date, and 25% from 60 days up to one year. Serious violations are excluded. Fines can be paid on the Abu Dhabi Police website or in TAMM.
Company vehicles need one more step. A fine with black points sits on the vehicle's record, and it can stay non-payable until the points are transferred to the licence of the person who drove (Gulf News, February 2026). In Abu Dhabi the driver does this in TAMM with UAE Pass, using the option to transfer black points on that fine. The 60-day window is therefore only useful if you know the driver early:
The same process works for fines and Salik tolls from other emirates; see company car fines and Salik and Darb management.
The platform is the same as on our fleet management software for the UAE page. For Abu Dhabi teams, these parts matter most:
Some fleets in Abu Dhabi fall under ITC transport regulation. Freight operator permits cover heavy and light vehicles and motorcycles, and their tracking must link to Asateel, the ITC electronic system. Vehicle permits for freight vehicles and passenger buses are issued only for vehicles with a working tracking device, and the ITC publishes a list of approved device suppliers and models.
CT Mobility does not have a confirmed Asateel approval, and we do not claim one. If your vehicles need an Asateel permit, the tracker must come from the ITC approved list, and the CT Mobility platform does not replace it. Please tell us before you plan a pilot on these vehicles.
Ambulance and emergency medical fleets follow a separate Department of Health standard that requires live integration with the DOH operations centre; CT Mobility is not built for that use. Our fit in Abu Dhabi is company pool cars, staff and service vehicles, and rental fleets.
| Rule in Abu Dhabi (as of October 2026) | Why the driver matters |
|---|---|
| Darb: AED 4 per crossing, 7–9am and 3–7pm, Monday to Saturday; free on Sundays and public holidays | Peak crossings are a choice of time and route; trip times show who crossed when |
| Darb 24/7 gates: Ghantoot and Al Qurm, AED 4 per crossing at any hour, since 4 May 2026 | Trips to and from Dubai via Ghantoot always cost a toll |
| Darb caps: none. Company-owned vehicles never had a cap; the caps for private vehicles ended on 1 September 2025 | Every peak crossing is charged, so the monthly amount depends on how each car is used |
| Darb fines: unregistered vehicle AED 100, 200, then 400 per day after 10 working days; low balance AED 50 | Register new and replacement vehicles before their first trip |
| Mawaqif: standard AED 2 per hour or AED 15 per day; premium AED 3 per hour, maximum 4 hours; paid 8am to midnight | The end point of each trip shows who parked the car and where |
| Impound (Mawaqif): AED 100 per day in the first month, plus AED 500 for transport and towing | Towing alerts show at once that a car was moved |
| Abu Dhabi Police discount: 35% within 60 days, 25% up to one year; serious violations excluded | Fast driver identification keeps the 35% window open |
