Driver Behavior Monitoring for UAE Fleets — IVMS-Style Trip and Driver Data for HSE Reporting

Speeding and harsh braking are recorded by most trackers. What a safety manager needs is the name of the driver and a report that can go into the monthly HSE review. CT Mobility records speed, speeding events, harsh braking and other harsh driving events on every trip of your cars, vans and pickups, and links each trip to the employee who drove. Tracking is included in AED 50 per vehicle per month.

Short answer: CT Mobility is driver behavior monitoring for UAE company fleets: speed and speeding events, harsh braking and other harsh driving events, and the trip history with times and routes, each linked to the verified employee who drove. It gives you IVMS-style trip and driver-behavior data you can export for HSE reporting; we don't claim IVMS certification or any operator approval. From AED 50 per vehicle per month with tracking included; minimum AED 500 per month, hardware billed separately.

What driver behavior monitoring records in CT Mobility

A GPS tracker in each vehicle sends its position, speed, ignition and other data to the platform. For every trip CT Mobility stores:

  • Speed and speeding: the speed along the route and the speeding events of the trip.
  • Harsh braking and harsh driving: harsh braking and other harsh driving events, with the time and the place on the route.
  • Trip history: route, start and end time, duration, mileage, and ignition and door events.
  • The driver: the employee who booked the vehicle or signed in to your branded app and passed the selfie liveness check before the trip.

Speeding and harsh driving alerts go to the right manager by push, email or SMS, and reports show trips, mileage and events per vehicle and per driver. Driver behavior monitoring (often spelled driver behaviour monitoring) is part of the same platform as tracking, booking and photo checks, not a separate product.

IVMS-style data: what it means, and what we do not claim

IVMS stands for in-vehicle monitoring system: a telematics device and software that record how a vehicle is driven. A typical IVMS records speed, harsh braking and acceleration, trips and the driver, and many systems add seatbelt monitoring and an in-cab buzzer. In the UAE and the GCC the term is common in oil and gas, construction and logistics, where clients ask contractors for IVMS data from the vehicles they bring to a project.

CT Mobility gives you IVMS-style trip and driver-behavior data you can export for HSE reporting; we don't claim IVMS certification or any operator approval. The table shows what is covered and what is not:

Typical IVMS requirementCT Mobility
Speed and speeding eventsYes: speed along the route of every trip and speeding events
Harsh braking and harsh driving eventsYes: harsh braking and other harsh driving events, per trip
Trip history: times, route, mileageYes: route, start and end time, duration, mileage, ignition and door events
Driver identified per tripYes: the employee who booked the trip or signed in to the app and passed the selfie check
Reports for HSE and safety reviewsYes: trips and events per vehicle and per driver, exportable
Seatbelt monitoringNo
Driver cameras, fatigue or phone-use detectionNo
In-cab buzzer or voice alerts for the driverNo: alerts go to managers by push, email or SMS
Certification or approval by an operator or authorityNot claimed

If a client contract or an HSE standard names a specific approved IVMS or device list, that requirement comes first, and CT Mobility does not replace it. Check the requirement with your client before you plan a pilot on those vehicles.

Why every event needs a driver

A speeding event on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road or a harsh braking event on the E11 is only useful if you know who was driving. In fleets where cars, vans and pickups are shared between shifts, a vehicle-only tracker cannot say that. In CT Mobility each trip starts with a booking or a sign-in in your branded app and a selfie check, so the events of the trip belong to a named employee.

The same record answers the next questions: which driver had the van when a speed camera fine arrived, and whether the same driver has repeated events over several weeks. More on vehicle tracking with driver identification and on matching fines to the driver.

Reports and exports for HSE and safety reviews

Reports show speeding and harsh driving events per driver and per vehicle for the period you choose, together with the trips, mileage and driving time behind them. The trip list and the driver details can be exported for your HSE reporting, a monthly safety review or a client report.

  • Per-driver summaries: events per driver, so the drivers who need a conversation or extra training stand out.
  • Per-trip evidence: the route, the time and the place of each event, for a fair conversation that starts with facts.
  • Per-vehicle view: events and mileage of each car, van or pickup, including the trips of every driver who used it.

CT Mobility does not publish a driver score formula: the reports count events per driver, and your HSE team decides what they mean under your own policy.

Contractor vehicles in Abu Dhabi and the oil and gas sector

Operators in oil and gas, utilities and large construction projects in Abu Dhabi and across the GCC often set HSE rules for the vehicles their contractors use, and many ask for IVMS data: speed, harsh events, trips and the driver. What exactly is required is written in each client’s contract or HSE standard, and some name an approved system or a device list.

Where your client accepts trip and driver-behavior reports from your own fleet system, CT Mobility gives you that data for the pickups and crew cars that run between Abu Dhabi city, Musaffah and project sites in Al Dhafra or Al Ain. Where the client requires a specific approved IVMS, that requirement comes first. Transport permits that need a tracker linked to Asateel are a separate rule; see GPS tracking and fleet management in Abu Dhabi. For site vehicles, see construction fleet management.

Vans, pickups and delivery riders: one behavior record

  • Distribution and logistics: van drivers on route days between Jebel Ali, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, with speeding events per driver and per route. See fleet software for distribution companies.
  • Construction and contractors: crew pickups between sites and labour accommodation, where the same vehicle often has several drivers in a week.
  • Delivery riders: speeding and harsh braking on motorbikes and mopeds, linked to the rider who passed the selfie check at the start of the shift. See software for delivery bike fleets.
  • Pool cars: office cars shared by employees, where the booking shows who drove. See pool car management.

In Dubai, Salik, Parkin and fines are traced the same way through the trip history; see GPS tracking and fleet management in Dubai.

Employee privacy: tell drivers what is recorded

Driver behavior data is personal data about your employees. Tell drivers what is recorded and why, limit access to the people who need it, and put the rules in a written vehicle policy. Our company vehicle policy template is a starting point; check the final text with your legal adviser.

How to start: vehicle review, installation and a pilot

  1. Vehicle review. Send us the makes, models and years of your vehicles. We choose a compatible telematics device for each model, for example from Teltonika, and quote the hardware and installation.
  2. Installation. We install the devices at your depot, office or site and test each vehicle with the platform. We install the trackers in every emirate: Dubai, Abu Dhabi (including Al Ain), Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain.
  3. Drivers. Employees install your branded app, sign in and pass the selfie check before each trip.
  4. Reports. Your HSE or fleet team receives the alerts and exports the reports it needs.

Frequently asked questions

What is IVMS?

IVMS stands for in-vehicle monitoring system: a telematics device and software that record how a vehicle is driven, such as speed, harsh braking and acceleration, trips and the driver, often with seatbelt monitoring and an in-cab buzzer. In the UAE and the GCC the term is common in oil and gas, construction and logistics, where clients ask contractors for IVMS data from their vehicles.

Is CT Mobility an IVMS?

CT Mobility gives you IVMS-style data: speed and speeding events, harsh braking and other harsh driving events, the trip history and the driver of every trip, with reports you can export for HSE reporting. We don't claim IVMS certification or any operator approval, and the platform has no seatbelt monitoring, driver cameras, fatigue detection or in-cab buzzer. If a client contract requires an approved IVMS, that requirement comes first.

What driving events are recorded?

Speed along the route, speeding events, harsh braking and other harsh driving events, together with the route, start and end time, mileage and ignition and door events of every trip. Each trip is linked to the employee who drove.

Can we export the data for HSE reporting?

Yes. Reports show trips and speeding and harsh driving events per driver and per vehicle, and the trip and driver details can be exported for your HSE reporting, safety reviews or client reports.

Does it work for contractors' vehicles in Abu Dhabi?

Yes, for company pickups, crew cars and vans in Abu Dhabi, Musaffah, Al Dhafra and Al Ain, and we install the trackers there. Whether the data meets a client’s IVMS requirement depends on that client: if the contract names a specific approved IVMS or device list, that requirement comes first.

How are drivers compared?

By events per driver: the reports count speeding and harsh driving events per driver and per vehicle for the period you choose, with the trips behind them. CT Mobility does not publish a driver score formula.

Does it detect seatbelt use, fatigue or phone use, or warn the driver in the cab?

No. CT Mobility has no seatbelt monitoring, driver cameras, fatigue or phone-use detection and no in-cab buzzer. Speeding and harsh driving alerts go to managers by push, email or SMS.

How much does driver behavior monitoring cost?

It is part of the platform at AED 50 per vehicle per month, with tracking included and a minimum subscription of AED 500 per month. The tracker hardware and installation are billed separately and quoted after a review of your vehicles.

Can we track one or two private cars?

No. CT Mobility is for company fleets and businesses with several vehicles. The subscription is AED 50 per vehicle per month with a minimum of AED 500 per month, which equals the subscription for 10 vehicles. The pilot for up to 2 vehicles is a trial for companies evaluating the platform for their fleet, not a plan for one or two cars. For a single private car, a consumer GPS tracker is the simpler choice.

Can we try it first?

Yes. A company evaluating the platform for its fleet can run a pilot on up to 2 of its vehicles with no subscription fee for 3 months; only the hardware, installation and mobile data are paid. After the pilot the fleet is connected on the regular terms, with the AED 500 monthly minimum.
